Allez savoir pourquoi les peintres, sculpteurs et photographes se délectent tant de Noël. Peut-être parce que cette fête universelle est chargée d’icônes jouissives à détourner. Peut-être parce que toucher à cet intouchable est si simple et si délicieux. Peut-être parce qu’avant même que l’artiste y ait mis sa patte, ce grand événement se métamorphose de lui-même en une cascade dégoulinante et indigeste de bons sentiments.
Commande très grand public d’un grand musée, sage illustration pour une carte de vœux nœud-nœud ou installation méchamment provocante, Noël se fait très impoli, reflet de nos noires pensées ou au contraire tout en consensus.
En ce jour si particulier et si banal à la fois, Boum! Bang! vous propose donc un tour du monde des œuvres ayant un lien avec cette célébration haute en couleurs. Sapins la tête en l’air, boules explosives, Père Noël lubrique… Suivez le fil de notre guirlande où scintillent quelques pépites d’humour noir et des grands classiques qu’il n’est jamais désagréable de se voir offrir un 25 décembre.
